The Funge is a very common accompaniment in the kitchen of Angola and is traditionally served with dishes that have sauce, like the famous Moamba chicken.

The recipe can be confecionada with cornflour or tapioca, which is cooked and stirred energy and very often in order to achieve the right consistency. The variant made with corn, most common in southern Angola, has the typical yellow tint of that ingredient; already revenues from cassava flour, widely used in the north, has a grayish color, with hints of brown.
Ingredients
- ½ liter of water
- 300 g of maize flour
- qs salt
Making
Bring the water to boil and when it is boiling, remove a mug for later use.
Add salt to taste and the flour gradually, stirring constantly and vigorously with a wooden spoon to not form lumps. Stir well to form a smooth ball. If funge is too thick, keep stirring and gradually add the water mug to desired consistency.
